A Ministerial Amendment of the Ministry of Interior was submitted to the Parliament, which extends the contracts of Personal Private Law for a certain period of time employed by the first and second degree local authorities and the legal entities of the Organizations. The contracts concern the recruitment of staff to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
They can, thus, be extended from their expiration until 31 May 2022, by decision of the relevant Economic Committee.
The submission of the amendment was made known by the Deputy Minister of Interior, in charge of Macedonia and Thrace, Stavros Kalafatis, by posting it on his accounts on social networking sites.
This is an amendment to par. 2 of article 74 of v. 4745/2020 (A ‘214), which will provide the following:
“1. Contracts of Private Law under Fixed Time employed in the first and second degree and their legal entities to prevent the spread of coronavirus COVlD-19, which were concluded in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 74 of v. 4745 / 2020 (Α ‘214), may be extended from their expiration until 31.5.2022 by decision of the relevant economic committee and provided that the necessary credits are paid for the salary of this staff, if there is no credit in the budget or the existing one is not enough, with the same decision a binding suggestion is made for the reform of the budget, which is obligatorily approved by the relevant municipal or regional council, in its first, after the extension, meeting.
2. The extension of the contracts of par. 1 concerns personnel whose contracts are active on the date of publication of this and do not change the nature of the employment relationship of the employees. The restrictions of articles 5 and 7 of the PD do not apply to them. 164/2004 (A ‘134), as well as the restrictions of par. 2 of article 36 of v, 4765/2021 (A’ 6). The total duration of these contracts, including their extensions, may not exceed the maximum period of twenty-four (24) months within the meaning of Article 6 of 164/2004.
3. By decision of the relevant Mayor, the staff of the present may, exceptionally, be available at the Citizens’ Service Centers (KEP) for the needs of entrance control, due to the increased volume of work they provide to the citizens.
