Pedestrian almost hit by explosion in Kharkiv, Ukraine

A security camera recorded the moment a pedestrian was almost hit by a huge explosion in Kharkiv, Ukraine, this Saturday (22). The images show a woman walking along the sidewalk when a large explosion occurs just meters away.

The incident was caused by a Russian attack with guided bombs on the city and left at least 3 dead and more than 50 people injured, in addition to breaking windows and scattering debris across the region.

According to information from the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, in addition to the explosion in Kharkiv, the Russian offensive also hit a gas installation in the west of the country. Due to the attacks, authorities needed to import electricity. After the series of attacks, President Volodymyr Zelensky asked for more help from Western allies to combat the Russian offensive on Telegram: “This Russian terror through guided bombs must be stopped and can be stopped.”

The city of Kharkiv, of around 1.3 million inhabitants, located in eastern Ukraine, has been a frequent target of bombings since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022.
