An apartment on Rua do Rocio, in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood, in the south of São Paulo, caught fire this Saturday morning (25).
According to information from the Fire Department, the fire left two injured – residents of the same floor.
One of the victims, who jumped from the sixth floor to save himself from the flames, was taken to the Hospital das Clínicas with cardiorespiratory arrest. The other person was treated for smoke inhalation and was taken to the Beneficência Portuguesa Hospital.

By 14:45 the fire had already been extinguished and no other casualties were reported.
CNN contacted the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da USP and said that it is not authorized to pass on any information about the health status of patients.
The Beneficência Portuguesa Hospital confirmed that the other victim was sent there, but, for now, they cannot inform the state of health.
