The Federal Police carried out, on the morning of this Wednesday (11), Operation Impregnator, which aims to combat the production, storage and sharing of photos and videos containing scenes of child sexual abuse.
The agents arrested the suspect in flagrante delicto after finding, on his cell phone, several Dark Web applications with profiles on forums, in which he shared images of abuse against minors.
A preventive arrest warrant and two search and seizure warrants were served in Vargem Grande, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, against the person investigated for the practice of rape of a vulnerable person. The warrant was issued by the 6th Federal Criminal Court of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the PF, the investigations began after a bad contact by Interpol informing Brazilian agents that the international agency’s victim identification system issued an alert indicating scenes of child and adolescent sexual abuse on Dark Web platforms.
At the time, the Federal Police received an alert about the possibility of illegal content involving Brazilian children and, based on this, the Dark Web Victim Identification Task Force, managed by the Cybercrime Repression Coordination, carried out a technical analysis of the files to confirm the crimes.
The experts identified the suspect and found that the victims shown in the files were actually Brazilian, living in Vargem Grande, where the crimes took place.
DELECIBER was then called to the case and had the support of the 16th guardianship council to arrest the suspect, a 40-year-old man.
The prisoner may be charged with the crimes of rape of a vulnerable person and production, storage and sharing of media containing scenes of child sexual abuse. According to the Federal Police, the combined sentences could reach 33 years in prison.
