PF arrests suspects of luring Brazilians to commit crimes in Asia

The Federal Police launched “Operation White Sand” to dismantle an international criminal organization focused on human trafficking and virtual fraud. The action takes place this Thursday morning (30), in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Santa Catarina.

The investigation, which began in 2022, found that the group lured Brazilians through social media. Criminals convinced people with false promises of jobs in Asia.

The victims arrived in Cambodia, a Southeast Asian country, and had their freedoms restricted. According to the PF, Brazilians were forced to commit virtual fraud against other people.

This morning, five search and seizure warrants were executed, in addition to five preventive arrest warrants for Brazilians residing abroad and restrictive measures for those investigated who are in national territory.

There was also a court order to block assets worth almost one and a half million reais in the bank accounts of those being investigated.
