PF conducts operation against drug trafficking scheme in Porto do Paranaguá (PR)

The Federal Police and the Federal Revenue Service launched, this Friday (28), an operation against criminal groups that would be helping international drug trafficking actions inside the Port Terminal of Paranaguá, in Paraná.

According to the PF, people inside the port acquired privileged information about positions, routes and container loads to help direct cocaine loads. The investigations did not indicate that the Paranaguá Container Terminal (TCP) was aware of the case.

The groups carried out “shipments of cocaine shipments abroad in containers, without the knowledge of the exporter, in the modality known internationally as “RIP ON/RIP OFF”.

Eight temporary arrest warrants and nine search and seizure warrants were issued in the Paraná cities of Paranaguá, Matinhos and Piraquara.

The investigated will answer for the crimes of transnational trafficking of narcotics, criminal organization and association for trafficking, with penalties that vary between the maximum of 24 and 25 years of imprisonment.
