The Federal Police investigates a complaint of fuel smuggling in the amount of R$ 1.2 billion. This Thursday morning (16), 14 search and seizure warrants were executed in the states of São Paulo and Paraná.
According to the PF, there were five in São Paulo: three in Campinas and two in Santos, in addition to three in Maringá and one in Foz do Iguaçu.
The investigations began when the Federal Revenue identified the action of a front company to hide the real importer, who would have brought the fuel to the country, without paying taxes to the public coffers, in the order of R$ 324.7 million .
On behalf of the fictitious companies, the real importer would have proposed several lawsuits during the pandemic.
The objective was to delay the payment of due taxes. In one of these cases, for example, an injunction favorable to the non-payment of taxes was obtained until the decision was suspended.
In addition to the crime of smuggling, those investigated may be liable for procedural fraud and ideological falsehood, evasion of foreign exchange and criminal association or organization.
