PF targets suspect of selling fake banknotes in Feira de Santana (BA)

A man suspected of leading the sale of fake banknotes and cloned credit cards was the main target of a Federal Police operation this Wednesday (2), in Feira de Santana (BA), 100 kilometers from Salvador.

The suspect was located at his home, where he confessed to the crimes, but was released after giving a statement. Now, he must answer for the crimes of counterfeit currency and embezzlement.

At the suspect’s home, police seized cell phones and computers used in the fraud. The contents of the cell phone seized at the time revealed the existence of messaging groups dedicated to the sale of illicit products, including fake banknotes and cloned credit cards.

During the operation, three search and seizure warrants were executed in Feira de Santana and Salvador, issued by the 3rd Federal Court of the Judiciary Section of Feira de Santana.

The investigation began in August 2023, after the arrest of a man in Santa Bárbara, detained with fake R$100 bills.
