The new head of NATO is visiting Kiev two days after taking office

New NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, just two days after taking office, met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev today to assure Ukraine of the Alliance’s support as the country faces a difficult situation at the front. The former Dutch prime minister and the Ukrainian president appeared before the media in Kiev, AFP journalists reported. Zelensky said they discussed the situation on the battlefield and Ukraine’s “victory plan”. Zelensky said he would like to see allies shoot down Iranian missiles and drones attacking Ukraine, just as they did during attacks on Israel. The Ukrainian president also called on allies to allow strikes deep into Russian territory. SOURCE: APE
