Next Sunday (16) Brazil will receive the second shipment of doses of the vaccine for children from Pfizer. The announcement was made by the executive secretary of the Ministry of Health, Rodrigo Cruz, this Friday (14) on his social networks.
“And our Friday starts with great news,” said the governor. “Pfizer’s second batch of pediatric vaccine doses has been brought forward to 1/16,” he continued.
According to Cruz, with the new shipment, 1.2 million doses will be delivered to the country. “And closing the month of January, on 01/27 there will be another 1.6 million doses”, he says on his Twitter account.
Last Thursday (13), the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, said that he requested the anticipation of doses and that the acceleration of the vaccination campaign for children between 5 and 11 years “depends on Pfizer”, said the minister.
The first batch was received at Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas, on Thursday (13), with about 1.2 million vaccines.
