A pharmacy saleswoman prevented a robbery by using a bank to confront a robber armed with a machete, in the Federal District. The case happened on Saturday afternoon (26) in Santa Maria, about 40 km from the center of Brasília.
The scene was recorded by the pharmacy’s security cameras. In the video it is possible to see the moment when the criminal announces the robbery and approaches the attendants. The employee grabs a bank to defend herself and tries to swing at the thief.
The attendant was unable to hit the criminal directly and ended up hitting a computer that was on the counter. Despite not hitting the thief, the blow was enough to scare the criminal who fled without taking anything.
According to the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF), a witness described the man’s characteristics, and a team was called to intensify patrolling in the area. To date, however, the suspect has not been located.
