It was 11 on Thursday morning when Romano found her dead as she left her house in via Rosario Nicolò, in Torraccia, to face the her first day of chemotherapy. In fact, she had recently learned that she was afflicted with a breast cancer which worried her a lot. She was holding her Asl papers when Carpineti reached her in the entrance hall of the building and the fired three shots – two in the chest, one in the head – with the service pistol. A neighbor heard the shots and called the police station around 11.25am. Arriving at the scene, the police found the woman’s body still kneeling in a pool of blood. Help is useless.

And recently they had decided to try to mend their relationship.

He however, he didn’t want to know: he was obsessed with Pierpaola, he was constantly looking for her and often showed up by surprise at his house. So much so that she recently confided to her colleagues: «Massimiliano’s behavior and reactions scare me». Now the investigators are trying to reconstruct the last days of the victim’s life, and the exchanges he had with Carpineti. The cell phones of the two agents were seized and the contents, in particular any victim and killer chats and messages, will be examined by the investigators.
