Pilot who died in plane crash in Bauru recorded video before the accident

Pilot Igor Reis, 51 years old, who died in a plane crash in Bauru, in the interior of São Paulo, recorded a video moments before the incident this Monday (10). In the footage, Igor says that he had fulfilled his mission in relation to the charity event he had participated in the previous day, “Arraiá Aéreo”.

The victim was a professional civilian and private aerobatics pilot. After participating in the event, he would return to the city of Mogi Mirim.

According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP) informed in a note to CNN , during takeoff, “a part came loose, forcing an emergency landing, causing an explosion, after the aircraft impacted the ground.” The pilot died at the scene of the accident.

On social media, the Brazilian Association of Aerial Acrobatics (ACRO) paid tribute to the pilot in the caption of the video. “Thank you brother, thank you for teaching us to fly with our hearts, to spread the true spirit of the air show”, says an excerpt from the caption.

“God allowed the mission to be accomplished, my friend, for you to perform your last aerial demonstration, infecting more than 130 thousand spectators, who aspire to one day obtain their own wings”, continues the text.

“We will not say goodbye, but see you later, it was an honor to fly alongside you. Every takeoff, every flight will be for you, brother”, concludes ACRO.
