A military police officer, identified as Lucas Rocha de Brito, was found dead, this Friday (17), in Praça dos Garis, in Encantado, in the north of Rio de Janeiro.
According to information from the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro (PMERJ), agents from the 3rd Military Police Battalion (BPM) of Méier were called to a homicide and at the scene they identified the victim as an agent of the 2nd BPM of Botafogo.
The circumstances of the death were not disclosed by the PM.
Through social media, the battalion to which the corporal belonged made a post paying tribute to the services he provided and offering solidarity to his family and friends. “His loss leaves a void in our hearts and we will always remember his courage and commitment to public safety,” said the 2nd BPM spokesperson.
The case was forwarded to the Capital Homicide Police Station, which is continuing with investigations.
