Police arrest man who threatened to shoot Milei while under the influence of prescription drugs

The Argentine government arrested, this Wednesday (25), a 32-year-old man who threatened to take 10 pills of a controlled-sale medication and shoot President Javier Milei in the head.

“I’m going to shoot him, one shot to the head, I’m going to take 10 clonazepams and I’m going to blow his head off with one shot,” said the man, who identified himself as Fabián Barraza Leonel and mentioned the types of revolvers he intended to use, in a video that circulated on social media in June.

According to the Argentine Ministry of Security, the publication was made on June 12, the day the Senate approved the Basic Law, a project sent by the Milei government to reform various sectors of the economy.

The department reported that the threat has since been investigated. The man was arrested by the Argentine Federal Police this morning in the González Catán region of Greater Buenos Aires.

According to authorities, prescription drug pills were actually found in the home, where a search and seizure operation was carried out.
