The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro indicted, this Wednesday (24), three people for the death of lawyer Rodrigo Marinho Crespo, executed in broad daylight on February 26, on Avenida Marechal Câmara, in the center of Rio. The police authority also called for the preventive detention of the suspects, who are already held in temporary detention.
According to investigations, Cézar Daniel Mondego de Souza, Eduardo Sobreira Moraes and military police officer Leandro Machado da Silva participated in monitoring the victim and met before and after the crime to plan the action. One of them even provided the car used on the day of the crime.
The three were arrested by police officers from the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC) during investigations, which also carried out search and seizure warrants against other suspected people.
The police decided to dismember the investigation investigating the execution, in order to identify and hold criminally responsible the others involved in the lawyer's death, as well as elucidate the motivation for the crime.
The lawyer, who was 42 years old, was killed in broad daylight on one of the busiest avenues in Rio. The crime was committed a few meters away from the headquarters of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB-RJ) and close to the office of the victim.
Security camera footage recorded the moment when the killer, who would be the fourth person involved in the crime, got out of the back seat of a vehicle and shot the victim several times. The lawyer was hit by around 21 shots, mainly in the face.
