Police who was arrested in the Octavio Ocaña case is prosecuted for more crimes

Almost a year after the unfortunate death of Octavio Ocaña and after the authorities of the State of Mexico announced the arrest and trial of officer Leopoldo “N” for his probable responsibility in the murder of the Mexican actor, the police officer was prosecuted for the second time, but this time for alleged abuse of authority.

According to information from The universal, On September 27, the control judge of the Judicial Power of the State of Mexico of the district of Tlalnepantla linked Leopoldo “N”, municipal police officer of Cuautitlán Izcalli, to trial for his probable intervention in the crime of abuse of authority to the detriment of Octavio Ocaña, who died in a chase on the Chamapa-Lechería highway, on October 29, 2021, as well as his companions David “N” and Jonathan “N”.

During the hearing it was revealed that, according to the evidence collected during the procedural stage, sufficient evidence was found to determine that Leopoldo “N” misused force in the face of what could only have been an administrative offense when the persecution that led to the death of the star of Neighbours.

In addition, the judge reported that the preventive detention measure was authorized for a period of two months, a period in which the complementary investigation will be carried out that will help to resolve the Octavio Ocaña case.

This new link to the process is part of the continuation of the hearing that began on September 23, in which Leopoldo “N” was prosecuted for the first time for the crime of manslaughter. As for Gerardo “N”, the second municipal police officer involved in the Octavio Ocaña case, he is still a fugitive from justice.

The arrest of Leopoldo “N”, 45 years old, was carried out when he arrived to cover his shift, while Gerardo “N” has not shown up for work, so the authorities proceeded to carry out a search of his home where neither was located.
