Singer Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock legend Elvis Presley, who died on Thursday (12), was married four times, including to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. “’Poor, sweet, misunderstood man, I’m going to save him.’ … I fell in love with him, ”she said of the singer.
Lisa married Jackson in 1994 in a ceremony that made headlines around the world.
In a 2003 interview with ABC News, she commented, “When he wants to hook you up, when he wants to intrigue you or capture you, or you know, whatever he wants to do to you, he can do it” and added that he “fell for this whole thing: ‘Poor, sweet, misunderstood man, I’m going to save him’… I fell in love with him.”
Their marriage ended in January 1996.
To Rolling Stone magazine, Lisa admitted “to be delusional” to marry the world star.
“I got into this hole, this ‘I’m going to save you’ thing […] I thought all these things he did [por exemplo, filantropia] were amazing and maybe we could save the world together. OK. I was delirious. I had a romantic vision in my head that I could save him and we could save the world,” she declared.
Lisa even participated in the music video for the song “You Are Not Alone” by Michal Jackson, one of the most famous of the singer.
