THE Pope Francis visited on Saturday the “Saxa Rubra” studios of the Italian public radio and television Rai in Rome, where he gave an interview on a religious program. It is the first time that a pontiff has visited the central facilities of Italian public television.
“In peace we may win little, but we always win. With war, one loses everything,” Francis said during the interview, also referring to the war in Ukraine.
The interview was originally supposed to take place on March 29, but it was postponed due to the admission of Francis to the Agostino Gemeli hospital of the Eternal City, with symptoms of acute bronchitis.
As the Italian media point out, the Argentinian pope chose the specific program of the Rai Uno television channel, because it is considered that with its work it contributes to the spread of a solidarity and human approach to problems and that it fights the “globalization of indifference”.
