Porsche owner's defense offers minimum wage as compensation and victim's family expresses disgust

Businessman Fernando Sastre de Andrade Filho, aged 24, who caused an accident that killed app driver Ornaldo da Silva Viana at the end of March offered a minimum wage per month worth R$ 1,412.00 as a living allowance to the victim's family, who responded expressing disgust and indignation “at the barbarity to which the worker and exemplary father was a victim”, according to a note sent this Friday afternoon (12).

Ornaldo's family lawyer, Jose Luiz, spoke out for the first time since the beginning of the case in a document that also says: “we cannot forget that this is the brutal execution of a worker, who was killed while working to earn a living. your family”.

“The family (of the victim) reaffirms their confidence in the work of the police force, members of the Public Ministry and the Judiciary, in representing the wishes of the family and society, focusing their actions on elucidating the facts and applying penalties to those responsible in an exemplary manner in the terms of the law” says the final section of the note.

In addition to the financial aid that was filed in the investigation investigating the case, Fernando's defense also attached proof of the deposit in the amount of R$500,000 as a bond held in a judicial account to “guarantee possible compensation for damages to the surviving victim and to the family of the fatal victim”, according to the document, was presented this Friday (12).

Fernando Sastre also had other precautionary measures against him that would have to be complied with 24 hours after receiving the decision, from the defendant's defense. Among the measures, the delivery of the cell phone he used at the time of the events, “where he would have received calls and messages from his mother, Daniela Cristina de Medeiros Andrade”, according to the decision.
