In an interview this Thursday (26), the economist and commentator at CNN Adriano Pires, assessed that Senator Jean Paul Prates (PT) has “technical and political qualities” for his management at Petrobras to be successful.
Prates was appointed to command the state-owned company by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and should assume the post this Thursday.
“Senator Jean Paul Prates has the qualities to be president of Petrobras and to manage well,” said Pires.
“First, he knows the oil and gas sector, having worked for a long time as a business consultant and studying the area. Second, because he travels well through Congress, he manages to take Petrobras’ claims to talk to politicians.”
The expert also commented on the expectations that the change of government may provoke in the state-owned company’s policy and concerns about a new PT mandate at the head of the country’s largest company. Check out the full interview in the video above.
