Preta Gil , 49, was medically discharged and is now at home. This Monday (10), the singer used social media to talk about her health condition, after being hospitalized last Friday (7), in Rio de Janeiro, as a result of a urinary infection .
“Hey guys! I’m at home, I was discharged. I’m very happy to be home. Obviously at home everything is better. […] I’m going to make a video explaining everything to you, what I have, what I did in the hospital and what I’m going to do in the next few days to take care of myself”, said the artist.
Preta Gil’s hospitalization
Gilberto Gil’s daughter, 81, was hospitalized on Friday (7), due to a urinary infection. The information was confirmed to CNN by the artist’s press office.
“We inform you that the artist Preta Gil is admitted to the Clínica São Vicente hospital, in Rio de Janeiro, for treatment of a urinary infection caused by a kidney stone. Preta is well, receiving medical care, and will soon return to her professional commitments”, said the note.
In January 2023, the singer was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, something that caused her to pause her career for most of the year. In August, the artist underwent surgery, which was successful. In December, she celebrated the end of her treatment.
