PRF removes police officers involved in action that ended with 3-year-old child shot in the head

The Federal Highway Police (PRF) reported, this Friday (8), that it removed the police officers involved in an incident that ended with a 3-year-old child shot in the head in Arco Metropolitano, in Seropédica, in Baixada Fluminense.

On Thursday night (7), the 3-year-old girl – whose name was not disclosed – was admitted to the Adão Pereira Nunes Municipal Hospital, in Duque de Caxias, with bleeding on her scalp, being sedated and then intubated.

According to Duque de Caxias city hall, the child arrived at the scene in a PRF vehicle.

The girl underwent a surgical procedure and is in serious condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Center (CTI).

In a statement, the PRF stated that “it expresses its deepest regret and sympathizes with the victim’s family, as well as being in contact to provide institutional support”.
