Prisoner who escaped from PF building is recaptured after two years

The man who fled in handcuffs from the Federal Police (PF) building in Fortaleza in April 2022 was recaptured this Sunday afternoon (21) in Ceará. The arrest was made by the state's Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime (Ficco) after two years of searching.

Alan Cléber Nascimento dos Santos, aged 26, was arrested in the Granja Portugal neighborhood for the crimes of introducing counterfeit currency into circulation in society and major robbery, in 2016.

The prisoner fled the PF headquarters shortly after the custody hearing. He had been arrested with R$3,000 in fake banknotes. During the search for Alan, the PF used a corporation helicopter, which flew over neighborhoods surrounding the agency's headquarters, the location of the escape.

At the time, the PF opened an investigation to investigate the escape from the institution's building.

The capture action had the support of the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope) and the Intelligence Advisory Service (Asint), both from the Military Police.

The Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime in Ceará (Ficco) is made up of the Federal Police (PF), Ceará Public Security and Social Defense Secretariat (SSPDS-CE), Ceará Military Police (PMCE), Civil Police of the State of Ceará (PCCE), Federal Highway Police (PRF), National Secretariat of Penal Policies (Senappen), Forensic Expertise of the State of Ceará (Pefoce) and Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration and Resocialization of the State of Ceará (SAP).
