Production of the AstraZeneca vaccine begins in Russia

The pharmaceutical company R-Pharm started its production vaccine against coronavirus based on the patent of the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca in Russia, told the country’s first Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vassily Osmakov.

He added, however, that the vaccine would be exported as domestic market demand will be covered entirely from Russian preparations.

“Russia already produces foreign vaccines, R-Pharm AstraZeneca vaccine is produced entirely on contract export character“, Said Osmakov, according to the APE BPE.

It is noted that so far the AstraZeneca vaccine not has been approved in Russia.

Russian citizens can only be vaccinated with Russian vaccines Sputnik-V, Sputnik-Light, CoviVac, Epi VacKorona and EpiVacKorona-N.
