Production of the updated KIA Ceed started in Russia

This summer, the South Korean auto giant KIA unveiled the updated Ceed series. In early October, the restyled KIA Ceed family was certified in Russia, and now the assembly of new cars has started in the country.

The updated KIA Ceed series represented by the Ceed hatchback and the Ceed SW station wagon will be produced at the Avtotor Kaliningrad plant. The start of sales of new cars is scheduled for November this year. Prices are not yet known. They will be announced later. As for the KIA XCeed cross-hatchback, it will appear on the Russian market later and, most likely, will also be assembled in Kaliningrad.

The 2022 KIA Ceed models differ from the previous generation cars with a slightly updated appearance with a new KIA nameplate design, upgraded bumpers and a radiator grill, as well as LED running lights. Other features of the updated family include the proprietary KIA Connect telematics complex with access to navigation services and the enhanced Drive Wise driver assistance system. Under the hood of the new KIA Ceed hatchback and station wagon, instead of the previous 1.4-liter engine, a 1.5-liter T-GDI power plant with a capacity of 150 horses will be installed in combination with a seven-speed robotic gearbox. Also, buyers will be available the already familiar configuration with a 1.6-liter MPI internal combustion engine with 128 horsepower paired with a six-speed automatic.
