The financing of four new development projects in the prefecture of Drama – with a total budget of 16.5 million euros – was announced by the Deputy Minister of Interior, Stelios Petsas, during his visit to the region. Specifically, as Mr. Petsas mentioned, from the city of Drama and Doxato, the Ministry of Interior is financing:
The “Urban Revitalization” proposal of the Municipality of Drama (AT06), amounting to 10.4 million euros, for the financing of two infrastructure projects that were, for years, a constant request of the residents of the area.
The proposal of the Municipality of Drama (AT04) for the implementation of the waste management project, amounting to 387 euros.
The proposal of the Municipality of Doxatos (AT07) amounting to 4.9 million euros, for the demolition of the old school complex and the construction of a new one, which will house the students of the Gymnasium – Lyceum of Kalampaki, as well as
The proposal of the Municipality of Doxatos (AT14-1821) amounting to 000 euros, for the promotion of the “steps of the Apostle Paul, in space and time”.
The first stop of the Deputy Minister of Interior’s visit to the region was the city of Drama, where he participated in a wide-ranging meeting at the Counter-Region building with the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace, Christos Metios, the Deputy Regional Governor, Grigorios Papademanos A, the mayor of Paranesti, Anastasios Kayaoglou, the mayor of Kato Nevrokopi, Giannis Kyriakidis, representatives of institutions and the MP of Drama of New Democracy, Costas Blouchos.
The meeting focused on the development prospects of the region, through the financial programs of the Ministry of Interior – with the highlight being the “Antonis Tritsis” program.
Mr. Petsas made a special reference to the reform of the CAP envisaged for 2022, with the aim – as he noted – to begin, gradually, to reverse the downward trend of recent years, but also to the ambitious plan for the upgrade of land border stations.
An extended meeting followed at the City Hall – under the mayor of Drama, Christodoulos Mamsakos – where the development priorities of the municipal authority were discussed, through the proposals he has submitted for funding to the competent services of the Ministry of Interior.
The last stop of Mr. Petsas’s visit was the Municipality of Doxatos, where he participated in a meeting under the mayor, Themistoklis Zakeridis, at the center of which was found the funding from the Ministry of Interior of the new Gymnasium-Lyceum of Kalampaki, but also projects that can be financed. in the immediate future.
