More than 7,500 liters of milk, 376.4 kg of food and other products unfit for consumption were seized in three markets and a dairy company in the municipality of Coqueiros do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul.
The seizure was carried out through the operation Programa Segurança Alimentar RS on Wednesday (22). All locations were fined.
According to the Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Sul (MPRS), the main problems found in the markets were food that had expired, had no origin and was stored improperly.
At the dairy company, among the 7,500 liters of milk discarded, at least 486 liters were rigged with the addition of water.
The MP also points out the existence of other irregular products in the markets, such as prohibited alcohol.
Other collected samples were sent for laboratory analysis, as they also showed signs of fraud.
