An event organized by the São Paulo State Government’s Sports Department, the Corrida da Esperança, this Sunday (28), gathered more than 15 thousand people, according to the event’s organizers, at Ibirapuera Park, in the south of the city. from São Paulo, for 5 km and 10 km races.
According to Governor João Doria (PSDB), “more than 40 thousand” people signed up for the event, proposed by the São Paulo Department of Sports and organized by Fundabom, which is the Foundation for Support of the Fire Department, with the support of the company Iguana Sports.
At the end of the races, around 2 pm, there was a free concert open to the public, with the São Paulo Big Band with the participation of singer Daniela Mercury and Carlinhos Brown.
The Butantan Institute was honored at the Corrida da Esperanças, – the green and white colors were present in the logo, uniforms, kits and in every visual identity.
During the event, the Health Department promoted a vaccination campaign against Covid-19, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, in order to reach people who have not yet attended the clinics to take the second dose of the vaccine against the disease, in addition to a collective effort of mammography exams.
