“The Reserve Bank of Australia will keep its key interest rate unchanged at 4.10% on Tuesday as inflation shows signs of easing“, according to poll by Reuters to 35 economists between August 30 and September 1.
The survey result also mentions that respondents largely expect one last hike next quarter.
Of the 21 economists who expect at least another rate hike, two expect it to come on Tuesday, while the rest expect it to come next quarter, likely after the next detailed quarterly inflation data is released in November. reported Reuters.
The survey also cites expectations of a November rate hike as Michele Bullock will become RBA Governor after mid-September, but also claims rates will remain unchanged at 4.35% until the end of September. March 2024.
