Rebel Wilson reveals the age at which she lost her virginity: “I’m going to look like a failure”

Rebel Wilson opened her heart about a delicate topic: her experience of losing her virginity at age 35.

The actress, now 44, who is engaged to the fashion designer Ramona Agruma and has daughter Royce, 1 year old, decided to share her story to send a “positive message” to other people and defy social pressure around the first time, stating that there is no pre-defined schedule for the moment.

“People can wait until they are ready or wait until they are a little more mature. And I think that can be a positive message. Obviously, you don't have to wait until you're thirty, like me, but you shouldn't feel pressure when you're young,” she explained to People.

The star of “The perfect choice” (2012) admitted that she avoided discussing the subject as much as possible because she felt embarrassed, and did not want people to think she was a “failure”.

“There was a random moment where I think I said to my best friend, 'Oh yeah, I did [sexo] to lose it soon [a virgindade] when I was 23 years old'. I only said it to really avoid any more questions. Normally, I would just leave the room when the conversation revolved around this topic”, confessed the star.

“And then people said, 'Wow, at 24, it's so late.' And then I sat there thinking, 'Oh my God, my real number is 35. Holy shit! I'm going to look like the biggest loser,” she lamented.

Although she acknowledges that she blossomed later than usual, Rebel believes that if she had been part of a later generation, she would have had a “very different” experience when it came to exploring her sexuality.

“It’s absolutely incredible, if I had been born 20 years later, I probably would have explored my sexuality more,” he said.

“And then when I started to open up, probably more so after my father died, I realized that even though I considered marriage to be a terrible thing and a waste of time, I started to open up to it. And only years later, meeting women and having feelings for a woman… I just think it’s a sign of where society was,” said the artist.
