Remotely, Elon Musk will attend the G20 summit in Indonesia

Businessman Elon Musk will remotely attend the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, an Indonesian Chamber of Commerce official told CNBC Indonesia on Saturday (12).

“He will not be able to attend because there are issues in the United States and he needs to be present there,” Arsjad Rasyid, the chamber’s leader, said, according to the broadcaster, adding that the Twitter and Tesla CEO would appear virtually.

Event organizers and Indonesian government officials did not respond to Reuters’ request for comment at first.

Musk is due to speak at a business event related to the Group of 20 Major Economies summit.

World leaders such as US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend in person. Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to appear virtually.

After recently acquiring the social media platform Twitter, Musk found himself mired in a series of strategies and policy changes that left the company’s future uncertain.
