A doctor at Sheba hospital assessed this Sunday (9) that the health of the hostages rescued from Hamas captivity in Gaza the previous day was very bad.
“The nutritional status of the returned captives, they are all in severe nutritional deficiency, with significant decrease in muscle mass and disruptions in their metabolic state,” said Dr. Itai Pessach, in Ramat Gen, Israel.
The hostages, Noa Argamani, 26, Almog Meir Jan, 22, Andrey Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 41, underwent medical examinations and psychological treatment at the hospital.
Almog Meir’s uncle, Aviram Meir, said he was grateful that three of them were kept together during their captivity. “If he was alone, I believe someone else would have gotten here,” he said.
The hostages, who were kidnapped from the Nova music festival by Hamas gunmen on October 7 last year, were reunited with their families on Saturday (8) following the Israeli military operation in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza, where were kept in two different buildings.
