Rihanna’s beauty and fashion empire is changing. According to different reports, Fenty, the luxury fashion brand launched in 2019, will be put on hiatus. Discontinuing the production of any company is never a good sign and many have taken the news as a low-key way to shut down the popular brand for good.
Fenty was the first brand launched by fashion and design multinational LVMH since 1987. Although Rihanna’s creations were highly publicized by celebrities and stores such as Selfridges and Bergdorf Goodman, the latest collection is believed to have had very low sales.
However, not everything is bad news for the interpreter of Diamonds, since its second brand, Savage x Fenty, which is focused solely on lingerie and underwear, has acquired an investment of more than 115 million dollars to expand and reach more stores.
Savage x Fenty was launched in 2018 in conjunction with TechStyle Fashion Group and to date has raised approximately $ 185 million for its inclusive designs, featuring models of all sizes, ethnicities and sizes.
The lingerie brand has not released exact figures, but it is believed that over the past year it increased its sales by 200 percent. On the other hand, its subscription service grew 150 percent.
Besides Fenty x Savage, Rihanna will still keep her line of skincare and makeup, Fenty Beauty, which will remain as the main brand managed by LVMH and that only last year managed to raise more than 550 million dollars.
