The deal amounted to $290.5 million, that is, the company will pay an average of $4,360 for each ASIC miner. The new agreement was a continuation of the June deal, under which the Chinese manufacturer will supply Riot Platforms with 33,280 devices. At the same time, the equipment from the June deal should arrive at Riot sites in early 2024, and the new 66,560 miners will begin shipping in the second half of next year.
After installing all 99,840 devices, the total hashrate of the company’s equipment will reach 38 EH/s. Management expects that the company will be able to achieve this hashrate in the second half of 2025. At the same time, Riot immediately bought options for the supply of MicroBT equipment, which will allow the company to achieve a hashrate of over 100 EH/s.
