An Armed Forces soldier responded to an attempted robbery last Friday night (29) in Méier, North of Rio de Janeiro. According to information from the Military Police, the crime occurred on Rua Capitão Resende, when the soldier was parked in his vehicle.
According to the PM, two criminals on a motorcycle approached and announced the robbery.
In reaction, the soldier, who was armed, fired shots at the assailants, hitting one of them. The other criminal managed to flee the scene.

The Civil Police reported that efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators of the crime.
The Capital Homicide Police Station was also called to assist in the investigations, as a firearm was used and one person was injured.
According to the Military Police, the victim was not injured during the confrontation, the incident was registered at the 23rd DP.
