Roberto Baggio, robbery in the villa: the former footballer beaten

They chose to act when almost everyone was busy watching Italy’s match against Spain. A group of criminals beat and kidnapped Roberto Baggio, in his villa in Altavilla Vicentina. The entire family was stranded for 40 minutes as thieves burgled the house.

It was around 10pm when a gang of at least five people, who were all armed, broke into the villa. According to reconstructions, Roberto Baggio attempted to block one of the robbers who hit him on the forehead with the butt of a gun. The former footballer would have a deep wound. He and his family were locked in a room.

Every room in the villa was turned upside down. Watches, jewelery and money were stolen. When Baggio realized that the robbers had left he broke down the door. He then immediately called the police who interviewed the Italian champion and his family who were with him. All video surveillance images were acquired. Baggio required some stitches in the Arzignano emergency room. No one else was injured.
