Roberto Bischoff will replace Roberto Simões as president of Braskem in January

Braskem informed that Roberto Simões will leave the position of president, as of January 1, 2023. Novonor, as controlling shareholder, nominated Roberto Bischoff for his place.

The appointment of the executive will be formally submitted for approval by the petrochemical Board of Directors.

In a material fact sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), Braskem also informs that Roberto Simões will also leave his position as a member of the Board of Directors, remaining in the exercise of his duties, including supporting the transition, until December 31, 2022.

Braskem points out that during the three years of the current president’s term, it reached a record Ebitda of R$ 30.3 billion in 2021, increased the importance of the company’s activities in the Circular Economy, developing a new vision and strategy for the future of the business, and achieved historical records in terms of the company’s image and reputation, safety of people and processes, compliance, in addition to reinforcing governance, innovation & technology practices and the topics of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Roberto Bischoff is currently president of Ocyan, a company in the Oil & Gas sector controlled by Novonor.

The executive has a degree in mechanical engineering and, according to the company, has a deep understanding of the petrochemical sector, having worked at Braskem from 1979 to 2019, in several action programs, including as leader of Ipiranga Petroquímica in the integration with Braskem’s operations ; the Polyethylene and Vinyls business; the implementation of the Ethylene XXI Project; the joint venture with Idesa in Mexico; of the company’s business in Latin America; and the Competitiveness and Productivity area.
