Rock band vocalist dies after falling ill during show in SC

The lead singer and guitarist of the rock band Maquinários, Watson Silva, died last Saturday (27). Friends and family reported on social media that the cause of death was sudden.

Watson fell ill during a performance at Hillbilly Rock House, in Lages (SC). The band had performed in the capital, Florianópolis, the day before.

The concert hall lamented the death of the vocalist: “A night that was being beautiful, with everyone enjoying and dancing, ended up that we had to say goodbye to the friend, husband, vocalist and guitarist of Banda Maquinários.”

The announcement of the death was made on Maquinários’ social media, which mourned the loss and wished the family strength.

The burial took place at 10 am this Monday (29), in the municipality of Frederico Westphalen, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul.

Watson Silva has been married to Lilian Tibola since February 2024. On Instagram, she made an emotional post: “I can’t believe it all happened.”

“We took this photo at noon on Saturday, and at midnight it all happened. It feels like a bad dream, and that I’m going to wake up and none of this is real,” wrote Lilian.
