Rostec creates domestic secure cryptoprocessors

The Avtomatika Concern, which is part of the state corporation Rostec, announced the start of the development of a series of domestically protected cryptoprocessors for Internet of things devices. The Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUSI) and the Kaskad company will also take part in the work on the project.

The new line of secure cryptoprocessors from Rostec will include chips for encrypting information, which will ensure high data security and protect devices from unauthorized access. Cryptoprocessors are used in various fields – from intelligent sensors for industry to vehicle engine control sensors.

As part of the new project, MTUCI engineers will develop special software. They will also be responsible for the integration of crypto algorithms. The Avtomatika concern will certify new cryptoprocessors, conduct relevant research, and then start promoting and selling ready-made chips. As for Kaskad LLC, within the framework of the joint project, its specialists will be instructed to develop cryptoprocessor topologies, test products and perform its final configuration.

Details of the new Rostec project are kept secret. It is only reported that information security experts take part in the development of cryptoprocessors. When creating chips, experts promise to take into account and correct the shortcomings of already released cryptoprocessors.
