The Ruselectronics holding, which is part of the state corporation Rostec, intends to develop and manufacture biometric systems, as well as video surveillance and navigation systems for payment in public transport. Such devices are expected in the first half of next year. The development will be the responsibility of the Research Institute “Vector” of the “Vega” concern, which cooperates with the “MF Tarif” company, which is a developer of software and hardware solutions for passenger transport.
Under the terms of the agreement, both parties will be engaged in the production of modules for the electronic fare control system using biometric data. There are also plans to create an R&D center for hardware and software development. Stanislav Sharonov, Deputy General Director of Vega Concern for Commercial Activities, noted that the first 100 modules of the fare control system will be created and handed over to customers in 2022.
