Russia and China have agreed to expand co-operation at a meeting of their foreign ministers in China today, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, citing “difficult international conditions” as described by Moscow.
Interfax reported that the co-operation includes building foreign policy co-ordination and formulating a common position on international affairs.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in the eastern Chinese province of Anui.
China-Russia relations have “withstood the test of international turmoil” and continue to grow steadily, the Chinese foreign minister was quoted as saying by Phoenix TV.
It was Wang’s first face-to-face meeting with Sergei Lavrov since the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
