Russia has announced the arrest of around 20 ‘collaborators’ of the Ukrainian army

Russian occupation forces today announced the arrest of around 20 “collaborators” of the Ukrainian army in the occupied Kherson and Zaporizhia regions of southern Ukraine during a counter-offensive by Ukrainian forces in the area.

The Russian National Guard arrested “in the regions of Kherson and Zaporizhia 21 accomplices of the Ukrainian armed forces,” the Kherson occupation authorities said in a statement posted on Telegram.

Also, according to the same source, 13 rocket launchers, more than 31,000 rounds of ammunition of different calibers, 53 hand grenades and more than 24 kilograms of explosives were seized from the detainees.

In addition, seven mines and artillery shells were neutralized, the announcement added, in which there are no further details.

Russian security services also reportedly dismantled in Kherson a group of Ukrainian agents who had been providing the Ukrainian military with information on the deployment of Russian forces in and around the city to guide Ukrainian missile fire, according to a military source cited by the Russian news agency Ria Novosti.

This announcement is made the day after Ukrainian strikes that destroyed an important Kherson bridge, which was of strategic importance for the supply of Russian forces and the city.

Kherson, the capital of the region of the same name, is located just a few kilometers from the front where Ukrainian forces have launched a counter-offensive to retake the territory they lost in the first days of the Russian offensive in Ukraine.
