Russia launched a “massive missile attack against infrastructure facilities” in Ukraine overnight on Thursday, firing at least 32 missiles, according to the Ukrainian Air Force in a Telegram post.
At least 16 of the missiles were destroyed by Ukrainian air defenses, the publication reported.
“Unfortunately, some of the Kh-22 cruise missiles missed their targets, hitting critical infrastructure,” the post said.
Andriy Yermak, chief of staff to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said Russia had also deployed drones in the attacks.
“Unfortunately, there have been attacks in the north and west of Ukraine, as well as in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions,” Yermak said. Ukraine’s air defenses “managed to deal with most enemy missiles and drones,” he added.
Earlier, officials in the Lviv region of western Ukraine said Russian forces attacked an infrastructure facility.
