The Russian government declared on Wednesday that Russia suspended its attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure after a call between presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump and knocked down their own drones to Ukraine while they were in the air.
Putin agreed on a connection with Trump on Tuesday (18) to temporarily stop attacking Ukrainian energy facilities, but refused to endorse a total ceasefire of 30 days sought by the president of the United States.
Ukraine accused Russia of attacking its energy infrastructure at night.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Russia has canceled a drone attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure targets and overthrew seven of her own drones.
Peskov, in turn, accused Ukraine not to respect the 30-day ceasefire to attack each other’s energy infrastructure and said he tried to attack the Russian system at night.
The Russian military accused Kiev earlier on Wednesday of trying to sabotage the temporary truce over attacks on energy infrastructure with a deliberate offensive of drones to a oil deposit in southern Russia.
Asked if Russia would fulfill the promise of suspending against Ukrainian energy infrastructure, the spokesman suggested yes.
