A Russian investigative committee will investigate the Ukrainian soldiers who were handed over to the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol, Reuters reports quoting TASS.
The interrogation will be carried out in the context of the wider investigation launched by Moscow into “crimes of the Ukrainian regime”, it is pointed out.
Meanwhile, the seven buses that departed Tuesday afternoon carrying Ukrainian troops fortified at Azovstal’s facilities arrived tonight in the pro-Russian separatist town of Olenyfka near Donetsk.
Earlier today, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that 265 Ukrainian fighters who had been fortified at the steel plant, the last pocket of the Ukrainian resistance in Mariupol, had surrendered and were considered prisoners.
