Russian Prime Minister on China: Strengthening bilateral relations is positive for both economies

On Tuesday (23/5), the Russian Prime Minister focused on the strengthening of Russian-Chinese ties which, as he emphasized, will positively affect the economies of both countries, with bilateral trade possibly reaching 200 billion dollars this year Michael Mishustin.

Mishustin, who is in Shanghai to attend an economic forum, he also pointed out that Russia will continue to export hydrocarbons to China “on a long-term basis” and that Moscow is ready to significantly increase agricultural exports to China.

The Russian Prime Minister arrived late Monday night in Shanghai, as announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry. There he was received by the Russian ambassador to China Igor Morgulov and the Chinese ambassador to Moscow Zhang Hanui.

In Shanghai, Mishustin, as reported by the Athens News Agency, will attend a Russia-China business forum, while he will hold talks with “representatives of Russian business circles” in China.

As part of his two-day visit to China, the Russian Prime Minister will go to Beijing tomorrow Wednesday where he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Chiang, as reported by the Russian Tass news agency.

China and Russia have strengthened their economic cooperation and diplomatic contacts in recent years. Their strategic cooperation strengthened even more after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
