Pregnant Sadie Robertson calls Covid-19 ‘a really dark sickness’

Earlier this week, American actress Sadie Robertson, 23, broke the news that she was hospitalized because of being tested positive for the Coronavirus during her pregnancy. She told her fans via a Instagram post about how sick she had been feeling due to the virus, and how she was going through a very challenging time.

“I know everyone experiences Covid differently, but wow these symptoms are wild. I’ve definitely struggled through this one!” she continued.

Though her family members including her sister and mother had been tested positive for the virus previously, Sadie herself was tested negative. However, she found it alarming when her husband developed a fever, and fell sick herself after two days.

Sadie went on to tell that most of the symptoms she was experiencing were quite similar to what her mother and sister had went through when they were battling the virus. According to her, her sickness began with a severe headache, followed by a bad cough and throat pain.

As her condition got worse, her mother suggested that she should be hospitalized in order to ensure Sadie and her baby’s safety.

The young actress revealed that the sickness also took a toll on her mental health along with affecting her physically.

“All the physical pain … on top of the loneliness of it and the isolation of it, makes you feel this depression that is something that I’ve never experienced before,” said Robertson. “I’m not going to lie; I cried a lot.”

“It’s really a dark sickness,” she added.

She urged others to have empathy for the ones who were going through a hard time because of the virus. She also asked her fans to make sure to wear masks in public places to protect themselves and others against the virus.

“I am a very healthy person. I exercise a lot. I eat pretty good. I take care of myself. I honestly thought if I got COVID it would not be that bad … But no, I had it horribly,” said Robertson.

So don’t think you’re just going to be fine… it is a really tough sickness that you don’t want to get.”
