On Samsung Newsroom, an invitation has been put forward by the company for its upcoming event which is titled ‘Welcome to the Everyday Epic.’ Through this invitation, Samsung has sent out a message that people were already reliant on their mobiles a lot for the sake of connectivity, but the 2020 pandemic changed many things for the mobile users. Due to the lockdowns, people had to stay indoors and their reliance on their mobile phones increased a lot. So much so that now, mobile technology has taken the driving seat and we are all heavily dependent on our handphones for communication, connection, information, and entertainment, even for businesses and studies. So, keeping all this in mind, Samsung seems to have decided to launch some interesting and better functioning phones and other devices that can “transform our everyday life into an extraordinary experience!”
What To Expect?
Aside from the most likely appearance of Galaxy s21, if we go by the hints that the company has been dropping since last year, it is probably going to introduce a method to use ultra-wideband technology for car opening and finding things that have been lost. The company is rumored to be releasing physical Tiles as smart trackers that are likely to be called Galaxy Smart Tags. People will be able to keep a track of all their lost items, even their pets via BlueTooth.
Apple has also been working in this dimension with its AirTags, but nothing concrete has come out of this rumor as yet.
Around the mid of December 2020, the CEO of Samsung, Tae-Moon Roh gave some more hints on Samsung’s prime areas of focus for the year 2021. He said that the company is trying to expand its “Galaxy Z flip foldable line” and is going to make the gadgets more easily attainable as compared to before. This probably means that the prices may go down a little for the upcoming phones and other devices.
Apart from this, he also mentioned that the company is focusing more on enhancing the camera and video functionality of these devices.
The End of Galaxy Note?
Samsung will likely discontinue its Galaxy Note line and add its features in other devices and by replacing it with S Pen support on the Galaxy s21 Ultra model. Let us wait and see how this line folds up in the upcoming event.
Aside from these changes, Samsung has also been keen to incorporate the 5G technology and has reportedly made some astounding advancements in the areas of artificial intelligence and the IoT. According to Tae-Moon Roh, these changes will redefine the dynamics and the functions that a mobile phone can do and how it can improve their daily life functions. Because a consumer is not supposed to alter their lives according to their gadgets, but it should be the other way around that a mobile phone should render as many services and opportunities to the users as possible, to make their lives easier and more efficient.
Samsung was the first OEM that integrated 5G technology, but Huawei beat the company to it due to various reasons, including the pandemic. Hopefully, this year proves to be better for the South Korean giant.
