Samsung Electronics recently tested sixth-generation (6G) mobile networks in the United States, Yonhap news agency reported.
Samsung Research Center of America (SRA) recently applied to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a trial frequency license and received approval. Samsung Electronics wanted to test how smartphones with 6G base stations would work. Samsung Electronics reportedly uses 133-148 GHz radio waves at a US laboratory in Texas.

It is worth mentioning that Samsung Electronics and the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) successfully demonstrated a prototype 6G wireless communication system in June this year. This time, data transmission at a distance of 15 meters with a transmission speed of 6.2 Gbit / s is implemented. The prototype system has a frequency of 140 GHz and a bandwidth of 2 GHz.
Samsung predicts that 6G will deliver peak data rates 50 times faster than 5G. Samsung said early commercialization of the 6G standard could happen in 2028, with a full launch for all users scheduled for 2030.
